One day, Dad said to mom, “Kipper’s hair is getting really long again, it’s time we had it cut.” “Oh, dear,” groaned mom, “I don’t think I want to know about it, ask me to clean a crocodile’s teeth, or cut a tiger’s toe nails, but don’t ask me to cut Kipper’s hair.”

Mama has been rarely cut Kipper’s hair ever since the last time when she did it, the trouble was, Kipper made a terrible fuss. He just wouldn’t keep still when Mama shampooed his hair, and he cried because he got a little drop of shampoo on his eye, but that was nothing compared to the trouble she had when she tried to give a haircut. He wiggled and jiggled, swapped and fidgeted so that Mum was cross with him. Then the soon has he did sit still, mama made a little nick on his nail with the scissors，and after that, Kipper made a big fuss than ever.

 

自从上次的理发，妈妈就几乎没有动过Kipper的头发，因为每次Kipper都会大发雷霆。妈妈在给他洗头的时候总是不能安静呆着。而且他的眼睛里沾了一点洗发水就大哭，但是这些都比不上她给Kipper开始剪发时麻烦。他摇摇晃晃，扭来扭去，坐立不安的状态把妈妈都惹怒了。然后当他坐好时，妈妈的剪刀在他的指甲上轻轻的划了一下，然后，Kipper就发了有史以来最大的一次脾气。

He told Kipper that the hairdresser was so good in cutting hair that Kipper would really enjoy it. At first Kipper wasn’t too sure so Dad said, “I had my haircut at the hairdresser when I was a little boy and I didn’t make a fuss, I remembered I thinking is a good fun.” “Well, all right,” said Kipper, “but if going to a hairdresser is such a fun, why does mum always cut your hair?” “She doesn’t always,” said Dad, “I will tell you what,” said Dad, “I had my hair cut as the same time as you, I bet I will make a fuss.”

So Dad took Kipper to a hairdresser on a high street. It called “Snips hair salon”. The shop looked really brighten and attracting, ‘Snip’ is a good name for hairdressers. The first thing happened to Kipper and Dad, once they were in the salon, is that has their hair washed. Dad had him washed by an assistant called Andy, and Kipper had him washed by an assistant called Nicky. Much to his surprise, Kipper enjoyed having his hair washed by Nicky, he didn’t wash it in a way mum did it at home. He just took Kipper sent to its place the new clear backwards, the place didn’t have taps, it has a special little hole that Nicky can control by pressing a little trigger on the end.

After the shampooing it was finished, and Nicky sat Kipper and Dad onto different chairs in front of a big, long mirror. “Excuse me, sir, would you like me to do with Kipper’s hair?” said Nicky, “shall I give him a trim? Dad remember how quickly Kipper’s hair ruined, he made as fast as he can make whenever Mum cut it.

And Dad said, “oh, errrr, yes, I’d like mine quite short, too.” “Snip, snip, snip, snip, snip,” with the scissors, Kipper looked at the side way to Dad, Dad didn’t look like too happy, “I bet he did make a fuss when was a little boy,” thought Kipper.
